Custard Pots II

Found with its counterpart ‘custard pots’ at Morrisons in Bridport, U.K., this list is in the same hand, on the back of a betting slip but intertwined with a Waitrose receipt for items listed.

Some items are duplicated from the first list but also included are two tins of baked beans, Kellogg’s Fruit and Fibre and some ‘ready baked’ potatoes.

Custard Pots

Written on the back of a BetFred betting slip, blank. Black biro. Odd mix of capital and lower case letters. Six items for a small top up shop. Dairy heavy, no fruit or veg.

Cereal Offender

A family of four with a toddler and a cat demand a lot of shopping.

This list looks to be shopping for a week with main meals consisting of sausages, fish cakes, mince and chicken served with sweet corn and chips and potato waffles.

Desserts include muffins, crumpets, cakes, yoghurts, custard and cereal bars.

Snacks encompass a number of types of crisps together with chocolates, Jaffa cakes, raisins and Baby Bels.

Breakfast will be well catered for with a number of types of cereal. These are Krave (HN), cinnamon, HN Clusters and something abbreviated to BG. I am not sure what BG is but I am guessing the HN stands for Honey Nut. This is quite an array of sweet choices.

Location and date found not recorded.

Big Milk, Small Milk, More Meat

A crossed off list shows somebody who takes a pen to the super market. The paper looks to be ripped from another list.

This shopper was looking for two sizes of milk, a Twix, 4 + baguette, fruit, paper cups, W U bowl, c-cumber, BBQ bread and ‘more meat’.

This looks like a BBQ shopping list? It is the right time of year. And what is the little picture in the corner? Some kind of tent?

Up on a cliff top

I found this list by a bench high up on a cliff on the Dorset coast.

There was a scrap of folded paper laying on the ground which I opened up and low and behold it was a shopping list.

It is a rather short shopping list. Maybe breakfast essentials for some holiday makers in the area.

Green Tea

A decent gauge of note paper has been folded and used for this list. Simple staples of cornflakes, milk, green tea, grapes and cheese are listed.

Found at Waitrose, Abingdon, November 2019. Thank you Mrs. Andy.

At the Station

Found on the ground outside the waiting room at Reading Station.

The list reads:

Peppers

Parsnips?

Onions

Courgettes?

Broccoli

Milk

V. Parmesan

—-

Butter?

The list has been walked on as has the indication of sole prints upon it. The person is buying no meat or carbohydrates. Spelling not perfect.

A top up shop. Likely from a town centre shop rather than a supermarket.

Lager lager

This is a man’s list alright!

Beer, battered chicken, 2 meat feast pizzas, baked beans, cheese, toilet roll and one tomato.

W’ U Liquid

Normal list, tea, milk, washing up liquid, salad, fruit, sauce….  but wait a second, what are coatings?

I like the flair on the dot on the i in liquid.  And I like the apostrophe in the abbreviation of washing to ‘w’.

Sandwich bags are bags for sandwiches. I did not know about these.

Interesting person.  Good work.

1 Milk is added twice.  Is this 2 Milks or did the person forgot that by the time they reached item 9 that item 2 was milk?

Other questions include, what is Cat – met?

Also, what is A/M?

This is not a main shop but rather a mid sized top up visit to the supermarket.  There was Scampi, chips and peas on the menu that night for sure.
