Ñoqui = Gnocchi

Found in Waitrose, UK, this shopping list is bulleted with little circles prefixing each item. Blue pen on a back of an envelope.

Some interesting things here, not sure what the second item is, ‘Quealo’? Or the penultimate item, ‘Pilos’.

I had to Google, but Ñoqui is the Spanish spelling on the Italian Gnocchi. Very good.

T Paper

A back of an envelope shopping list. The hand writing in this one is confident but a bit tricky to understand. Fish swagi? Alop meat?

There are some normal items here, toilet (T) paper, water, milk, beer.

But then Left make up is confusing, as is Fresh pet(?) written vertically.

Fish for Dogs

I did not know that dogs ate fish.

Cats are famous for liking fish. Cats are also famous for not liking water. The question therefore is how, pre-domestication, did cats come across their fishy feasts to develop such a taste?

Pleasant little list on half a sheet of ruled A5 paper. A clear hand with some essentials. Interesting that there is a ‘big yog’ and ‘yog’. I am not sure what ‘Red On’ is, or Keiti.

I am not sure what Keiti is, will it be this? Maybe I am reading the word incorrectly. Could it be Keith?

Saltine Crackers

Yellow Post-it Note shopping list. The list has been written in several sittings with pen and pencil. There are some cryptic numbers on the right hand side which have been crossed out.

I had not heard of Saltine Crackers in the UK. But, sure enough, here they are: https://amzn.to/3W9Hs0n

Hob Wok – Eggs 12 – Dog

  • Eggs 12
  • 2 Bags of spinach
  • 1 Carrotts
  • 2 Tomotenen?
  • 2 Pkt garfee?
  • Feet blackberries x 2?

The bottom right of the list makes for an interesting read, sliced chicken, sliced ham, frozen chicken, dog.

Cereal Offender

A family of four with a toddler and a cat demand a lot of shopping.

This list looks to be shopping for a week with main meals consisting of sausages, fish cakes, mince and chicken served with sweet corn and chips and potato waffles.

Desserts include muffins, crumpets, cakes, yoghurts, custard and cereal bars.

Snacks encompass a number of types of crisps together with chocolates, Jaffa cakes, raisins and Baby Bels.

Breakfast will be well catered for with a number of types of cereal. These are Krave (HN), cinnamon, HN Clusters and something abbreviated to BG. I am not sure what BG is but I am guessing the HN stands for Honey Nut. This is quite an array of sweet choices.

Location and date found not recorded.

Are the items crossed out ones which were purchased or ones which were not required.

Mum, I Snapped Your Hairbrush

Here’s a good one.  The front of the list is great, strange use of ‘z’ for plurals and a few unknowns but it is the back of the list that stands out – scroll down!

How nice.  I hope Mum was happy with the replacement and the kind note.

Salad, fruit, veg, pots, onions, cereal, rice krispies, cheese, ham, t bags, cake, crisps, choc bars, bread, ???, mayo, ???, tuna tinned?, tinned beanz?, tinned toms, eggs, passatta, cheese sauce, bubble bath, golden syrup, juice, butter, t rolls, k rolls, pasta, kidney beanz, stock pots, plenty of ale?

Lucky Dog

img_1973

The one thing that is essential, and should be put on the list first, is a sieving spoon. Second priority is some executive food for the dog.  Once everything has been purchased, Hello magazine and a lottery ticket should be bought.

There are a few items here which are unclear.  Any help is appreciated.

Sieving spoon, dog paté, dog mince, cheese, yoghurts, veg all, T bags, lemonade, cereal bars, ?, gress?, tomatoes, potatoes, frozen mixed veg, frozen fish, bread, Hello, lottery.

Dolly Bics

Nice list with the basics.  Some points of interest however, Dolly Bics?  Is Dolly a dog do we think?  These are underlined so important.

Also, is the last line trainers?  Maybe not as these would be a strange purchase at Morrisons.

Eggs, milk, fish, toms, veg, quiche, jacket pot, batter mix, W U Liq, Dolly Bics, Trainers?
