Shloer

A5 spiral bound shopping list, lined, blue biro. Later addition of weedkiller in a black pen. A pen that was reluctant to work.

Shloer is a non alcoholic grape juice available in red, white or rosé.

Spa Water

A small piece of paper, torn on 3 sides. Maybe belonging to an older hand.

Unusual to see a particular brand of water required.

What is W.U.L? Ah – washing up liquid 🙂

I suppose Bis is biscuits. Ch Burgers are chicken. Marg is margarine.

Choc Dig

White paper, 145mm x 100mm, cut with scissors. Staple torn from upper left indicates that this sheet was once not alone.

This person has a sweet tooth. Items include Choc Dig (what is dig?), custard cream biscuits, cake and ice cream.

After all the sweetness, this shopper was planning the main meal. Diced beef has been crossed out and replaced by chicken thighs, to be served maybe as a stew with vegetables and mashed potato.

Red List

Lovely red pen on a plain piece of paper makes this list stand out from the crowd.

Not a major shop but rather a few required items. It looks like lasagne and salad was on the menu. Some fruit is listed and also shower gel.

Garlic B

A small list on a post-it note. Written in pencil.

Ten items. I can’t decipher what looks to be Wash T cels and Teele.

Otherwise there is onion, tomatoes, garlic bread, foil, disinfectant, rolls, crisps and bread.

Reverse Advent

This list is from Livingstone in Scotland where it was used for a reverse advent calendar.

To explain what a reverse advent calendar is:

Firstly you need to grab a basket or box, and every day leading up to Christmas, add something useful to the box.

The idea is that you add 24 items just like an advent calendar.

Then you can donate it to a food bank, a family in need or your church.

A reverse advent calendar is perfect to do as a group too. You can put the box in your classroom, workplace or do it as a larger family group and take turns at adding to it.https://www.muminthemadhouse.com/reverse-advent-calendar/

Please take some time to see if there is a similar scheme running locally to you at this time of the year, or make a cash donation to your local food bank if you can.

LadyMissB20 List Number 2

 Our kind contributor says:

“items are mackerel, salad leaves, tomatoes, mini mozzarella, peppers, mushrooms, pine nuts. List has been written on a small post it note. Maybe a last minute list before leaving work to get items on way home but the writing is quite neat.

This suggests to me someone who is trying to eat healthily.
Looks like a one meal shop. They are probably going to have a salad with mackerel, sun dried tomatoes, peppers, the mini mozzarella and possibly the pine nuts. I wouldn’t personally put mushrooms in a salad, but others might.
