Shopping List from Dudley

This list was very kindly donated by Matt from Dudley.

Firstly, pink pen and beautiful cursive script is not a common occurrence in the world of shopping lists. A colourful and welcome addition.

Secondly, the reader of the post on tittles will notice the circle above the first letter i. Circles are replaced by dots further down.

On apostrophes, there is ‘Choc’s’ and ‘Dogs Food’.

Other items include some staples including crisps, gravy, biscuits, cheese and jam. What is slightly unexpected are the ‘bum wipes’ and two types of shampoo.

What a great list. Thank you Matt!

Hair Stuff and Jumper

This list was found in Reading town centre and is a non food list. The owner needed to visit the bank and do a spot of clothes shopping before dealing with ‘hair stuff’.

This is a back of an envelope list with a little squiggle below the text to make sure the pen is working.
Jeans, bank, hair stuff, shampoo, jumper.

Split Peas

What are these numbers?  This list was found by Steve and he thinks they could be a running total of the prices.

What else do we know?  This list was taken from a spiral bound notepad which has been cut vertically.  The list was written by more that one person, compare BLACK BAGS with Bananas, not only capitalisation but also a difference in the Bs.

This person is a crosser offer.  They have bought no meat, a vegetarian?  Actually there is some ham near the end.

The addition of the newspaper on the list suggest a weekly newspaper rather than a daily.  This fits as Steve found the list on a Sunday

Milk, choc spread, sweet pots, pots, frozen fruit, fruit, toms, orange juice, newspaper, black bags, bananas, rice, shampoo, sensodyne, shower gel, cheese, ham, split peas, shampoo.

Found by Steve in Sainsbury’s in Tadley.

Three Cucumbers!

img_1975

Three cucumbers!  Nobody buys three cucumbers!  Maybe this hard working mum is also catering for the local cricket club and making sandwiches for the home and away teams.  That may explain why 3 loaves of bread and 9 bottles of squash are required. Actually the cricket season has finished here so there must be something else going on.

Lots of fruit and veg which is good to see but also lots of kiddie friendly meat products, chicken fingers, hot dog sausages, burgers and of course who could ignore the turkey jetti:

yeti

Lettuce, tomatoes, veg, mushrooms, apples, peppers, spring onions, cucumber x 3, bread x 3, squash x 9, noodles, chili sauce, paste, peas, gravy, hot dog sausages, milk, chick ham, butter, yoghurt, nappies, washing up liquid, crisps, water x 2, kids cartons, biscuits, crackers, deorant, shampoo, buble bath, burgers (kids), chick fingers, turkey jetti, belly pork, mince, roast meat, 4 meals.

Turkey Rashers

Squared paper, a blue biro, dots after each word.

Are those apostrophes to be seen in the plurals; eggs, rashers and chillis?

The shopping list: 6 Eggs, shampoo, shower gel, bacon, turkey rashers, biscuits, crisps, brown sauce, crushed chillies.

Descaler (kettle)

Washing up liquid, squash, cotton buds, kitchen roll, dog treats, shampoo, nappies, descaler (kettle), 4 way, hair bands, kerbie grips.

Squiggle at the top to get the pen working.

The list looks like it is from a lady with a baby. She has longish hair which she wears tied back.

Found Tesco, Reading.
