Kindly dontated by Andy. This shopping list was found in a Sainsbury’s in Oxfordshire. This is a bit traditional with lard, sprouts and tinned fruit but the item to note is the Bannans [sic].

Sainsbury’s Didcot, Oxforshire

What are these numbers? This list was found by Steve and he thinks they could be a running total of the prices.
What else do we know? This list was taken from a spiral bound notepad which has been cut vertically. The list was written by more that one person, compare BLACK BAGS with Bananas, not only capitalisation but also a difference in the Bs.
This person is a crosser offer. They have bought no meat, a vegetarian? Actually there is some ham near the end.
The addition of the newspaper on the list suggest a weekly newspaper rather than a daily. This fits as Steve found the list on a Sunday
Milk, choc spread, sweet pots, pots, frozen fruit, fruit, toms, orange juice, newspaper, black bags, bananas, rice, shampoo, sensodyne, shower gel, cheese, ham, split peas, shampoo.
Found by Steve in Sainsbury’s in Tadley.

Gratefully found and contributed by Southampton Old Lady. She does not mention where the list comes from but she says:
Someone is about to do some seasonal cleaning as these are mainly cleaning items: Mr Muscle sink unblocker, Viakal limescale (remover), soap powder, Flash bathroom cleaner, muffins, butter, milk 2pt (2 pint size), toilet rolls, kitchen rolls.
Many thanks!!!

Three cucumbers! Nobody buys three cucumbers! Maybe this hard working mum is also catering for the local cricket club and making sandwiches for the home and away teams. That may explain why 3 loaves of bread and 9 bottles of squash are required. Actually the cricket season has finished here so there must be something else going on.
Lots of fruit and veg which is good to see but also lots of kiddie friendly meat products, chicken fingers, hot dog sausages, burgers and of course who could ignore the turkey jetti:

Lettuce, tomatoes, veg, mushrooms, apples, peppers, spring onions, cucumber x 3, bread x 3, squash x 9, noodles, chili sauce, paste, peas, gravy, hot dog sausages, milk, chick ham, butter, yoghurt, nappies, washing up liquid, crisps, water x 2, kids cartons, biscuits, crackers, deorant, shampoo, buble bath, burgers (kids), chick fingers, turkey jetti, belly pork, mince, roast meat, 4 meals.

Now, this is really interesting, not so much for the items but in the way they are presented. Here the list has be segmented into little boxes with what looks like similar items in each box. Does this represent a map of the supermarket aisles or is this how the food is stored at home? Fridge items in one box, household in another etc.
Woo.
Sweet pot, peppers, coffee, cornflakes, liver, kidneys, chicken breasts, mince, morrison’s blades, soap, spray * bath, ariel colour, oust, sponges, grapes fruit, milk | cream, sour cream, coleslaw, taramasalata?, gruyere cheese, ham, choc lollies, scotch, gin, tonic.

Nice list with the basics. Some points of interest however, Dolly Bics? Is Dolly a dog do we think? These are underlined so important.
Also, is the last line trainers? Maybe not as these would be a strange purchase at Morrisons.
Eggs, milk, fish, toms, veg, quiche, jacket pot, batter mix, W U Liq, Dolly Bics, Trainers?

This list was very kindly supplied by SouthamptonOldLady who has also provided the insight below.

Bread, milk eggs, meat for stew – crossed out, steaks, double cream, blue eggs (trendy tinted ones?), cauliflower or/and broccoli, pointed peppers, a bottle of Merlot wine, 5-6 pots of heather (lovingly doodled).
Perhaps we can guess that this list is for a posh, romantic dinner at home for two, then a bit of gardening at the weekend. The ‘meat for stew’ has been crossed off – so perhaps at the last minute they have been informed that they will be on their own for the weekend and suddenly changed the menu?

Interesting one, a home cooker here with the mince, ham joint and other bits that need preparation. Any ideas what a pink biscuit is?
Pink biscuit, raisins, milk x 2, cheese, bananas, Aba bread?, honey, roast beef, veg, ham joint, mince, mozzarella, srut?, chip and dip, beer, throat sweets.
The consensus is that this is what the pink biscuits relates to:
