Mum, I Snapped Your Hairbrush

Here’s a good one.  The front of the list is great, strange use of ‘z’ for plurals and a few unknowns but it is the back of the list that stands out – scroll down!

Maris Piper

She wrote Maris Piper, he was confused or thought she was too pernickety and appended ‘spuds’? Different hand?

What else is happening here? A roast? A pickling session? Making chutney?

Maris piper spuds, veg, cauliflower cheese, vinegar, smoked streaky bacon, bag sugar, Yorkshires.

Joey Bags

Another kind contribution from Southampton Old Lady, she says:

I went to Bristol at the week-end and found this colourful list on some street art (viewed from the bridge on Park Street towards the Hatchet Inn) – don’t know if its within your rules, but I would love to know more about the person who wrote it.

I don’t know what Joey Bags are – on a Google search they could be 1. handy-sized plastic skips, 2. man-bags aka Joey from Friends or 3. recycled tweed bags designed by Joey D – 4. It could be the slang name for artist himself. Although I think that he is Silent Hobo (one of three Indigo Babies pictured – probably the one in the hat).

Lucky Dog

img_1973

The one thing that is essential, and should be put on the list first, is a sieving spoon. Second priority is some executive food for the dog.  Once everything has been purchased, Hello magazine and a lottery ticket should be bought.

There are a few items here which are unclear.  Any help is appreciated.

Sieving spoon, dog paté, dog mince, cheese, yoghurts, veg all, T bags, lemonade, cereal bars, ?, gress?, tomatoes, potatoes, frozen mixed veg, frozen fish, bread, Hello, lottery.

Three Cucumbers!

img_1975

Three cucumbers!  Nobody buys three cucumbers!  Maybe this hard working mum is also catering for the local cricket club and making sandwiches for the home and away teams.  That may explain why 3 loaves of bread and 9 bottles of squash are required. Actually the cricket season has finished here so there must be something else going on.

Lots of fruit and veg which is good to see but also lots of kiddie friendly meat products, chicken fingers, hot dog sausages, burgers and of course who could ignore the turkey jetti:

yeti

Lettuce, tomatoes, veg, mushrooms, apples, peppers, spring onions, cucumber x 3, bread x 3, squash x 9, noodles, chili sauce, paste, peas, gravy, hot dog sausages, milk, chick ham, butter, yoghurt, nappies, washing up liquid, crisps, water x 2, kids cartons, biscuits, crackers, deorant, shampoo, buble bath, burgers (kids), chick fingers, turkey jetti, belly pork, mince, roast meat, 4 meals.

Just The Reverse

This list is what is on the back of http://atomic-temporary-115005755.wpcomstaging.com/2016/10/01/compartments

This well organised person has taken the trouble to note down a plan of the meals for the week.  On the menu are schnitzel, roast pork (on Sunday obviously) and sausage and mash.

Are any of the ingredients on the front of the list?

Are these people going out on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Tuesday?

Compartments

Now, this is really interesting, not so much for the items but in the way they are presented. Here the list has be segmented into little boxes with what looks like similar items in each box. Does this represent a map of the supermarket aisles or is this how the food is stored at home?  Fridge items in one box, household in another etc.

Woo.

Sweet pot, peppers, coffee, cornflakes, liver, kidneys, chicken breasts, mince, morrison’s blades, soap, spray * bath, ariel colour, oust, sponges, grapes fruit, milk | cream, sour cream, coleslaw, taramasalata?, gruyere cheese, ham, choc lollies, scotch, gin, tonic.
