Great Hand Writing

Firstly, what great writing.

This list, I presume is for two people, maybe code named D and W? There is some mixture of upper and lower case writing and the common grocer’s apostrophe.

Crisps, beer, wine, D|ginger, bread, D|W|Tablets, oxo’s, chicken oxo’s, washing liquid, fruit, veg, curry sauce, rice.

In answer to the question, what is Oxo:

Illustrated Shopping List

Wow, what a list. These people eat well with a variety of ingredients to make meals from around the world. They have a cat and children. The illustrations are great, I particularly like the little bird perched next to the cat biscuits. Lots of help from the children to make this shopping list.

Fruit, bread | rolls | bagels, Dolmio sauce x 2, Lasagne sauce and sheets, Appals x 100,000, chicken pieces, chicken breast and thigh, mince x 3, sausages x 2, bananas x 54, cod pieces, kids bits, cat biscuits, scampy fries x 2, cheese, homs?/meats, coconut milk, grated cheese, mozzarella, halloumi, sour cream, taco shells, mange tout, baby something, cucumber, chillis, tomatoes, salad, avocados, olives, coriander, onions, mushrooms, peppers and “by a chinees takeaway for cata” [sic].

On the reverse is soy sauce, garlic, ginger and comfort.

Dog ham?

Makeup remover pads, gaviscon, crisps, egg fried rice x 2, chocolate, linguine, prawn crackers, Bombay potatoes, chicken, cereal bars, rolls, bread, white wine, eggs, yoghurts, cold meat, dog ham, orange juice, grated cheese, sausage rolls, chicken, cucumber, bananas, fruit, mushrooms, jackets, ice creams, garlic bread, chair, chocs for Ruth.

Note how Rob gets four of his own yoghurts and Ruth is going to get some chocolates.  12 eggs is rather a lot and what is dog ham?

This is a useful reference on the subject:

Tom Purée

Washing up liquid, bread, milk, Tom purée, bread, leafs, onions, pepper, new pots, sauce, bars, fruit.

The owner was sketching out a plan for the week’s menu. Let’s see:

  • Monday – ?
  • Tuesday – Sausage, mash, pie
  • Thursday – Fajitas
  • Friday – Chilli with kidney beans

Tuesday could be meat rich with sausage and pie together. Nothing on Wednesday, maybe they are out on Wednesday.

Flowers?

Flowers, lettuce, toms, cue, beet, fruit, jellies, loaf cake, milk, cereal, butter.

Although the location and date are not known, the salad ingredients would suggest that this is a summer list.

Very nice writing with the l of a £ sign.
