The Day I Hit The Jackpot

This list was kindly donated back in November 2017, a long time ago. I am very sorry to say that the email address I use for shopping list donations has not been looked at for that long, as for some reason I could not log in to the account.

The issue has been fixed today!

Here is the text accompanying the donation:

I spotted this list on the floor of the newly renovated Coles supermarket in Myrtleford, Victoria, Australia. I didn’t hesitate a second to swoop on it.

The item “Listerine Tabs” intrigued me, I didn’t know Listerine came in tablets. When looking online to find out more about this, I found a report on a student’s project, to design travel packs of the tablets. I’d sure buy them!

I have no idea what Tomato-Corri could be, unless it’s 2 separate items, the second being Coriander.

Then, I noticed that the list was written on the back of a receipt from the only other supermarket in town, Foodworks. This shopper seems to be a good recycler!

Green Tea

A decent gauge of note paper has been folded and used for this list. Simple staples of cornflakes, milk, green tea, grapes and cheese are listed.

A quick Google has determined that Viakal is lime scale remover. What are RR or RD Pads though?

Ripped from a small note pad, this list is written in black biro in what looks like a lady’s hand.

Vegetarian menu, two types of potatoes.

This list is written on the reverse of a label. A price label from a supermarket shelf. Did the person find the label at the supermarket and write the list there. Or did they get the label on a previous trip, take it home and write the list? Or maybe, they work at a super market, take these labels home in bulk and use them for general notes and list making.

The list has been walked on as has the indication of sole prints upon it. The person is buying no meat or carbohydrates. Spelling not perfect.

A top up shop. Likely from a town centre shop rather than a supermarket.

This person needed petrol. This list was used at Morrisons in Reading where there is a petrol station right next to the super market.

Angel Delight and frozen fruit. Was this person whipping up a special retro dessert?

Perhaps a Christmassy list. Parsnips, roast potatoes, and the ingredients for a trifle.

A female hand. This is an organised person, items have been grouped with their domestic bedfellows and ticked off as obtained.

Was the trifle ever completed? Only the sponge, presumably sponge fingers, (?) have been ticked. Oh dear…

Whisk for the cream or whisky for the sponge?
